That's not the case at all! Nimrod was trying to build the high tower for the reason of challenging God. So That is why God Struck it down, it was struck due to the ill-intent of Nimrod. All the people were split and giving different languages and because they couldn't understand each other went different directions! Starting new life's other places with new languages! There are times in the bible when people were given the holy spirit and talked in "tongues." "Tongues" meaning different languages and not some heavenly tongue people will have you believe when they start babbling in church. Being blessed with the ability to Speak in "tongue" was solely for the purpose of preaching Gods word to any and everybody no matter what language they talked.

God is not against other languages - as you can see he created them! Most of Jesus followers throughout the biblical accounts spoke several languages, so they could spread the good news.
The reason they started building the tower of babel, is for fear that God would scatter them over all the earth, they didnt want Gods rulership, they wanted to celebrate themselves as a nation.
Jehovah saw that this is what they began to do and there would be "nothing they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them."
So he saw fit to disperse them by his means, as opposed to allowing them their own headship - which is the craving of sinful mankind, the abuse of free will.
So in the case of the Bible and of God, it is not wrong to speak in tongues, or to communicate, he merely meant for his purpose to be fulfilled, and that is for mankind to poulate the entire earth.
Good question though, made me think!

Wrong you have mis-translated and the Bible carry's a death sentence on adding and taking away from his word. It was nimrod who built the tower, so he could climb to the top and be nearer to God, then he shot an arrow at it . it was a case of 'up yours' In order to stop it from being built he confused their language. But that is only part of the story, go and check your Bible

The story of the tower of Babel shows that God is in control and most powerful. He changed their language so they would migrate into small groups and populate the ends of the earth. These change in language forced them to leave one central area.

study your bible and supply up asking others to enable you be conscious of the certainty, then you definitely would be conscious of for your self. Genesis 11: a million-9 In that element each and every of the folk of Earth in hassle-free terms spoke one language. by utilising construction the tower they wanted to make a recognition for themselves and likewise forestall their city from being scattered. They wanted something to stand that would glorify themselves no longer God. So the folk proceeded to outfitted this "tower to heaven" as a monument of their greatness. God is known with whilst human beings are of one strategies or united for a single purpose their potential is better and that they could start up thinking there replaced into no longer something they won't do, if the tower replaced into finished. at last the folk could provide up giving God the respect thoroughly by utilising thinking they might do something. with the objective to maintain the tower for being finished God puzzled their language so as that one ought to no longer comprehend the different and scattered the folk for the duration of the land, consequently the tower ought to no longer be finished. definite, God's unique proper plan replaced into for each physique to stay a rich life as one enormous kin in the international, yet as sin grew and grew(contained in the above tale, the sin replaced into too lots satisfaction) the plan had to be revised(that's thru Chrst). God's proper plan would be positioned back in place after the 2d coming of Christ.

Man was supposed to inhabit the earth... move around and not have one large empire. But they had all settled in one place, so by confusing the language, He forced them to move.
In Bible times, even Paul spoke at least 2 languages. For practical reasons, too someone needs to. Our Bible was mostly Hebrew and Aramaic and Greek.
