As i know muslims believe that GOD knows our fate, and he knows the future. So if gods know everything, this means that we don't have free will because everything is predetermined. right ?

Muslims believe that human beings exercise free will, but that our destiny is also known by God. Isn't this a contradiction?

How can muslims believe that god know everything and he knows every action that we will do in the future, and at the same time muslims believe in free will.
Free will means that our action is not predetermined, and if our actions is not predetermined then how can god know the future?
Please people who don't want to give a rational answer, Don't answer !!!

Any way from a rational and scientific point of view i believe that everything is predetermined and we don't have free will. I believe that all our actions is effected by our experience that we got from the environment we live in and from our genetics. I believe that our life is just cause and effect. and we don't have free will.

''One possible interpretation is that, when man's free will is implied in the Qur'an, Allah is simply referring to the human perspective of free will (since his omnipotence allows him to know who will go to heaven and who to hell)''
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will#In_Islamic_thought

Doesn't this mean that free will is just an illusion ?

I think that we don't have free will because all our behaviors is effected by narture and nature.
I believe that Humans are complex machines and law is physics is applied on us. And god (Allah) can know the future because he can measure everything.

Surprisingly, they believed in both of them.

There is a hadith that will clear ur mind about this matter. I don't remember the exact saying of the hadith, but it goes something like this....

'Allah will not change the fate of a tribe if the tribe did not change their own fate'

I think u probably don't understand what it means. I'll try my best to explain to u.

It is true that our fate is already be destined right before our existences. Everything that happened is the will of the God. Fate is predestined, as u said.

But we can change our fate. Or it means that we can TRY to change our own fate. How? By effords and pray to the Lord. Let say u r destined to be poor. But u didn't want to be poor. So u work hard so u can be a rich man. Allah see everything that His humble creations did. If He want to give u wealth because of ur hard work, He is the Most Merciful to His servants. But if He decide that being poor is the best for u, it is His Will. Remember, poor and rich are the test given to human. Allah will not test u something that u cannot bear.

But there is some fate that we cannot change. One of them is death. When the Mighty God had decided that u will die on that day, u will, without a delay. No matter what medicine u took, or whom u met to save u, it is the God's Will. But since u do not know when u will die, so u have to try to cure ur illness, because maybe ur time has not come yet.

I hope i have clear ur mind.

The fact that God knows your fate have got nothing to do with the choices you can make. The choice of doing good and bad, and from the choices we made we will be judged. The reward may come in this life (doonya) (can be in a form of upgrade in your predetermined fate (poor -> rich, etc) or in the afterlife (akheerat).

I know it is quite hard concept to grasp if one does not believe in the afterlife. Example : You are destined to get a D in the next exam. But the choice of studying or cheating for instance, despite the results will put you in a different stance in front of God.

Islam has a doctrine of predestination (akin to that found in Christianity). Muslims believe that God, or Allah, has "measured out" and so foreordained every human life. Muslims, again, like Christians, will state, "It is God's Will", which is a relinquishing of individual / free will to that of a higher power.

there are things in life that are choices and others that are like forced?!! well i cant find the exact word it's not really forced it's like things that you have no hand in.

but yes god knows our fate and there are things that only god knows why!
faith is the most important thing when it comes to religions not every question will have an answer.

but we do too have free will!! god gave you a brain and showed you right and wrong and it's up to you to choose!! if you choose to do the right thing then be sure that god already knew you were gonna do the right thing and vixe versa!! but god doesnt want us to do the wrong thing.
and when you are doing something that's wrong you will still have some signs from god to make you stop like ( hesitation, fear things from that sort!! basically the feeling you get when you are do something wrong)

God gives us free will. But still God has predistined our path, meaning He knows which path we will go to.
If u think ' than what is the purpose of our creation'
then the answer would be;
God create us cos His nature as The Creator is to create, and He create humans, angels and jinns to glorify Him. He create the heavens cos of His love for His creation. But still we are being tested here on earth to see if we are worthy to enter His heavens. And hells is for the punishment of those who disobey His law and rules.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - contained in the call of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful i did no longer study the Wiki web site because of the fact i locate it to be an quite doubtful source for discovering approximately Islam. i will answer your questions right this moment: a million. The status of one's soul is basically between that individual and Allah. subsequently, a "conversion" of convenience with a view to get married or for yet another non-non secular reason has no nicely worth contained in the sight of Allah. in hassle-free terms He is known with what's contained in the hearts and he would be conscious of if a individual converted out of conviction or for convenience. It does no longer count number if a individual replaced into Hindu or atheist or Christian, Jew or Buddhist. in case you DO convert to Islam because you somewhat have faith, you're a hundred% Muslim no count number your origins. most of the Quraish have been pagans, believing in Allah and an excellent sort of different gods. whilst they submitted to Allah and worshipped Him by myself, they have been nicely-referred to as beleivers. If a individual in actual fact converts, information and believing the tenets of Islam, they seem to be a Muslim. there are a number of substantial and minor aspects in Islam. some subjects are greater significant, like the prayer, and a few are much less significant. needless to say the guy who's striving problematic and doing greater solid works and following the Qur'an and Sunnah greater is in a intense status with Allah if he does so from the middle, yet you may no longer say a individual isn't "solid" if he or she does not fulfill each and every rule and regulation. We human beings are vulnerable by utilising nature and our lives are a conflict. some human beings have subjects with the beard, with hijaab, with working in a economic enterprise, with utilising ribaa, and different subjects, some substantial, some minor. those human beings are nonetheless Muslim yet they're falling short in some way, as do all of us. My suggestion to such human beings is a similar because of the fact the suggestion I provide to myself: not at all get lazy, consistently attempt to do greater proper, and consistently make taubah to Allah once you're making a sin. And Allah is known with maximum suitable. Fi Aman Allah, Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

Muslims believe that we have been sent upon this earth to be tested. we have a choice of wrong and right, and although god knows which choice we will make, the choice is ours and ours alone.
