It really depends on a lot of different things. The sitters house or yours? Do you supply food and snacks, or does the sitter? Age and experience of the sitter? The average is probably a little less than that (maybe $6-$8)....but it also depends on the area you live in. If you live in a small town or more rural area, the average is probably going to be on the low end...if you live in a big city...you are probably looking at the $10+ range. If you have a pretty much "set schedule" you could even pay on a "salary" basis. Call your local Daycare Services and find out an average price for the hours you need, then probably deduct about 25-30% or so for an individual experienced sitter. Daycare services cost more b/c of "overhead" (insurance costs, licensing fees, wages/taxes, etc.).

An 11 month old is hard work! So I'd say 8-10 is a good idea. I usually get paid 15 for 4 kids. I also get paid 10 for a baby thats almost 2. So i think that 8-10 is a fair amount.

For infants (under 2) I did $15.00 and hour plus I tipped. Now I have two and both are older, so I pay $10.00 per kid per hour. It seems like it might be a little high, but these are my kids and I want someone good to watch them. Not just anyone. I have found that most of the times, someone from the daycare would watch them at my home and they are all certified in cpr, and are use to being around the children anyway.

The average fee for a babysitter is actually $5 per hour. But if the babysitter is not trained for CPR and other babysitting courses, $2.50 per hour is okay. Depending on your generosity, you can give more than $5 per hour for an experienced adult babysitter though.

if the babysitter is a professional, than about 15 bucks an hour, but if beginners, 7 bucks an hour. but since you have a baby, u should pay more becasue babies are harder to take care of like changing diapers, feeding...etc..
