Been wondering the same. It's funny how they emphasize that "it's from the BIBLE". As if the book itself had some kind of authority. As if that authority itself would force us to see the truth. This presumption makes conversation very difficult.

I am an LCMS Lutheran. While I am a very conservative Christian, I am disgusted with the "religious right" as they tend to be all mouth and little substance.
The problem is that most of them have a little knowledge about what they are talking about and a lot of MOUTH.
They need to first get grounded in the Word of God, know the doctrines of the Bible, be able to explain well without acting like some pious Christian.
They need to understand that many (not all) are creating a bad witness by acting as if they superior just because they are saved.
When you understand the doctrines of the Bible, you are then equipped to live you life in such a way that allows you to witness your faith without throwing your piety in the face of others.
We don't go around with an agenda trying to change the minds of others on social issues, rather we humbly come across stating that we are sinners just like everyone else. Sinners in need of a Savior.
Christians mistakenly think that they are the social police and push their agenda down the throat of those who don't understand where they are coming from.
Rather than doing this, how about focusing on salvation when ever the topic comes up or when ever you are asked. Other than that (unless you are asked) witness your faith quietly as people are always watching what you are doing more then listening to what you are saying.

Many people that tries to ram something down people throat, is simple, They have a zeal, but not according to knowlwedge, I am a Christain for 36 yrs. And I do not ram anything down anyone's throat. I keep my mounth shut unless I am ask something, Then If I am ask something I believe that is God's way of opening the door for a conversation, I know many Christain's will object to this answer., But I will use only 2 scriptures to back up my answer, The bible says, no man can come unto me, excepth the Father draws him/her. And another scripture All that the Father Have given unto me, will come unto me. Now another thought about your question, there are so many religions, But Jesus only brought one with him. Yet all are done in the name of religion. Look at your Islamic & Muslum people, they would like to stick a bomb down your throat. And they also said, that they will make the whole world Muslum or Islamic, sorry, NO THEY WON"T, Those religions are much diobolic than any I know

Why do Secular Humanist Ram Secular Humanism down our throats?
If you got your opinion from any source in any way known to man, then it is not of your own mind, you have just brainwashed youself into thinking it is.
Question: If God does not exist, Then what is right and what is wrong? If it is a matter of opinion, Who's? if it is decided by society how? (taking both questions all the way back to the beginning of recorded human history) If you say that you cannot legislate morality, I will ask "Is murder against the Law? Yes of course it is, well there you go, you just legislated morality, the only Difference is who's morality will you legislate.
Beside those of us who cannot type very fast cut and paste to save time.

All christians dont do that. If something from the Bible helps then u can quote it, theres nothing wrong in that, but I dont agree to just blindly copy paste not only the Bible but other references also. If I wanted something like that I could easily search it on the net or read the Bible.

Talk about egos...you are a grumpy one. I'm agnostic but i don't see why you're so worked up about people offering their answers. If you want answers try to be a little more open minded even to christianity. I wouldn't be surprised if certain science questions were overwhelmed with copys and pastes from scientific texts so why should this be any different?

If you get 39(or whatever) answers to a question and one person feels compelled to copy half the bible onto the page why does that mean that "all Christians are "ramming the bible down your throat. If I use one or two scriptures isn't that legal in a "Religion and Spirituality forum" where I am just honestly expressing my belief?

Boy you sure have a chip on your shoulder don't you.
Pasting scripture is not "Ramming it down..." If the scripture answers the question why not use scripture?
You state we are not caring by answering with scripture? Because we give scripture and not our opinion only that is "not caring" Only if you do not accept Scripture as a pure answer.
Your statement about God is the most curios... God would think its weird to quote him????
If the Scripture IS our opinion why not use it?
Your argument is very curious and for the most part without common sense.

So far I have never used cut and paste, and you can see it from my numerous typos. ( But I use and will use the Bible )
This is a section for religion and spirituality. Why are you here with that kind of attitude? That is not very attractive nor intelligent.
There is nothing wrong about quoting the Bible. It is our life manual from God. We use our own intelligence. And we are wise enough to rely on God's wisdom, not our own.

each and every of the sensible human beings interior the international attempt to help the ignorant no remember what their faith!! The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of britain and mainstream church homes all settle for the huge bang and evolution!! Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury placed it ok – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist mindset to scripture, ignoring scholarship and severe gaining expertise of, and complicated distinctive understandings of reality”!! large that christians and atheists can agree and snort together even regardless of if that's at your rate!! yet at the back of the laughter is the melancholy at a fundamentalist striving so not hardship-free to wreck christianity with the aid of turning it from a faith to an ideology!!!!
