One of my friends got hypnotised during a stage show in a nightclub. She went up on stage because she always said she was to strong minded to get hypnotised. The hypnotist told her she was feeling hot, so hot she had to take her clothes off and when she was stood on the stage in her underwear he brought her round. She took one look at herself and burst out crying and run off stage. She said it was a humiliating experience, but hey, at least she had pretty matching underwear on... I think the suspenders and stockings were a bit much though! LOL

not for entertainment, but i tried hypnotherapy. I felt like I was making up everything I said and making up being hypnotised, i think i was probably just relaxed. and it didnt help me at all.
Apparantly only about a fifth of people can be hypnotised for entertainment and those are the ones who naturally like showing off and being centre of attention so who knows if its real or not??
Great question, I'd love to know if its worked for anyone

No word of a lie, I was hypnotised by my washing machine.
In my defense, I was 10 at the time.

Yes, many years ago, it was to take me back to various things that may have happened when i wsa a child. It was weird, I was aware that I was "under" but at the same time, I felt really relaxed and calm, exept when he made to go back to what were rather tramatic times when I was 2 and 3 years old, then I got quite upset. he taped the whole thing for me to hear later and what was very weird was how my voice changed as I got taken back to years younger, it became more child like, with simpler words and grammer being used, I was not aware of that at the time.
It did help me a lot, but you have to make sure it done done by someone reputable, or it can be dangerous. unbalance your mind so to speak. good luck

Nope. I am a qualified Hypnotherapist - I've got the certificate to prove it! Yet I'm not really convinced that there is a genuine 'altered state of consciousness', maybe just deep relaxation and heightened social compliance.
Certainly, I've never been successfully put under myself. Maybe I'm just a bad subject. Whatever script is being used, I tend to burst out giggling halfway through!
