If Islam is the peaceful religion that is often claimed, why is it that clerics from mainstream Islam do not come out publically to condemn the terrorists and encourage other ways of fighting injustices?

Please don't merely point the finger back as some other group...this is a serious question and the answer you give may further the cause of mutual respect and understanding or enlarge the chasm between us all.

If clerics have made public statements, please tell me where I may find these. I sincerely thank you for your answers.

Dear Poki Poki,
With respect, the sites you list are not public denouncements from clerics. That is my point, if you are open minded enough to really listen.

islam is a very peaceful religion but there are many black sheeps in every family. and not all members of the family would take the responsibility of an individual's action.

for me a mullah or cleric or imam is nothing more than a judge of high/supreme court. all they have to do is give a judgement at a trial. and i know that there are some people who lust for land, power and money and they forget their Faith, esp with taliban everything was helter skelter.

but u should also not forget those people who have stood and are standing against the crimes and atrocities comitted by some extremists. i call them extremists not islamic/muslim terrorists, because they are not muslims in first place.

no man who uses the mask of religion and Allah to fulfill his dirty intentions can be a good muslim. a muslim is a person who is a kind hearted and patient person, who beleives that THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH.

there are many people who speak ill of Allah without knowing its meaning. ALLAH means SUPREME BEING, nothing more nothing less. it is not the name of any mortal, mythological character or hero from a epic. it sheerly means SUPREME BEING.

there have been many people who have given quotes from quran saying that Allah asks u to kill infidels or non-beleivers. but how many people know what a infidel is in islam.

in·fi·del (nf-dl, -dl)
n.
1. An unbeliever with respect to a particular religion, especially Christianity or Islam.
2. One who has no religious beliefs.
3. One who doubts or rejects a particular doctrine, system, or principle

if this is the infidel u are talking and linking to islam, then u are wrong. an infidel is not a man/woman from the opposite Faith. it simply means a person who is leading astray from the STRAIGHT PATH, which leads to God. in layman terms, it means, a person who commits sin. and every right religion and God will say the same thing.

when u meet a muslim in ur day to day life, u will find him exactly like u: a worried parent, a caring sibling and a faithful partner. u will find him so absorbed with his life and family, that he does not have time to think of dirty intentions.

now back to the point of why we muslims do not support the world against terrorism. we support u and verily Allah is a witness to that.

but how many of u have seen us on TV giving our opinion.
neither BBC or CNN will bring a layman on an interview, they will only bring bigshots.
it is ur world that is blocking our voices from being heard.

we muslims are not so good at forming a comittee and starting talks. we can do what we have to by guiding our children in right path. we not have any support neither from media nor from anyone.

do u think that we muslims are happy with the bombings.? no we are not. infact we are more hurt and embarrassed for what some people are doing in the name of our religion. they are putting us to shame in front of the whole world.

infact there are some of us who beleive that it is better that osama bombed us rather than a innocent someone else. do u why? becoz we muslims are alomst dead. muslims have nothing they value more than their Fiath in Allah, teachings of prophets and holy books and our self respect and dignity. and when some one takes that away from us, we are alomst dead.

who do u think is most affected from the bombings. yes i agree there is a loss of life from the other party, but a muslim dies everyday with the thought that why is his religion always going to trial?
why is it his God that is always called fake.?
why is that his prophet is called a nymphomaniac and sex offender?

i pray to my Lord that thi does not happen even with my enemies, other part being that i have no enemies. if u are ready to listen we are ready to speak. if u want to broaden ur horizons then we will expand it for u. just give the rest of us a chance to speak out.

but i would also like to add that :
when a nun covers herself from head to toe,she is practising her faith.
but when a muslimah does that , she is opressed.

whena western woman is a tay at home mom, she is sacrifising her life for her family , but whena muslimah does that she needs to be liberated.

people should realise tha freedom means responsibilty. just flaunting ur body in front of men is not a big deal. ur body is an adorment and a temple. unless people realise that they will always argue.

whena jew grows a beard, he is practising his faith.
but when a muslim man does that , he is an extremist.

why the partiality. this is the reasn many young people are lead astray.

when a jew, christian, or anyone from any faith is involved, religion is not mentioned.
but when a muslim is involved, why is it that it is ISLAM that goes to trial.

and most imporatnt of all, there are a few people who say muslim countries are underdeveloped countries. then why do u find many people working from different walks of life in gulf countries. ok let aside that.

u say u are rich, powerful and kind hearted people (group 1 countries is what im talking about), then why dont u support us. is it not the resposibility that people of G1 countries help people from under/ devolping countries.

and why is that all countries across the globe (esp US/UK)
have the full right to go ahead with nuclear research, but when a muslim country does that, they are planning an attack. why do u say that? what that impartiality for?

finally, we are ready to voice our views but are u ready to hear us?

Why haven't Christians renounced Bush's invasion?

The wars and terrorism are fueled by Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. They are probably motivated also by money and control of power, but that's covered by this religious facade.

Get rid of the religions and people would be much less motivated, on all sides, to pursue this. Policians know this and use religion to finance their greed.

For the same reason that the US has never stopped in its history from bullying other countries: because islamist clerics and US leaders are convinced of their respective heaven sent mandates to spread God's presence throughout the world. USans are more clever though: they engage in state sponsored terrorism through their local puppets, while islamist clerics are more confrontational.

Prominent Muslim leaders publicly renounce all violence ALL OF THE TIME. They just don't make the press because that's not news.

I myself as a muslim get pissed off that noone says anything publically, its not that we think its right, at all. Back in the day when the KKK was still around, regular white citizens never said anything, it was hated by innocent white people who thought it was wrong, but they never ever said anything to stop it. Now imagine yourself as an arab-american or just plain arab. You have terrorists blowing up sh(t everyday and u can't do anything about it. You wanna stop it, but everyone you talk to about it is just racist as hell. Let me give you a few videos you can look at......... and bro if u want the arab side of the war just email me and i'll answer u. People here they wake up listen to the radio and hear someone say something about some arabs being terrorist because they ordered 80 prepaid phones. And then Americans' natural reaction is What The F(ck? those dumb arabs trying to blow up stuff. You know? People become predjudice and racist without even realizing it.

Most Muslim leaders are closet supporters of terrorism. The very Muslims on this board are a good cross section of Islam -- a large percentage of them will claim a desire for peace in one sentence and then praise Hezbollah and Hamas in the next. Their idea of "peace" is an Islamic world.

they have written books on the matter. they have warned of certain individuals long ago. the western media has no interest in listening to such individuals, because that would paint islam in a good light, why would they want to do that?
