I'm 12 years old and they still won't let me stay home by myself when they go to my grandma's everyday. It only takes about 15 minutes to get to her house. Please help me!

Sorry. You're twelve. It's ok loads of people arne't allowed. They're just protecting you.
Anyway it sucks being left home.
I'm home on my own all the time and it's SOOOOOOO boring.

We parents are always protective - even inappropriately. Twelve seems a bit young for "alone", although the proximity of your grandma is reassuring. Explain to them why you want or need to stay home by yourself. But don't merely argue. That's a sign of immaturity they'll interpret as not being ready for home alone. Just take it quietly, and not too insistently -- and demonstrate in everything you do that you are reliable and capable of being responsible for yourself. That usually means capable of being responsible for others. Good luck. I used to reckon every kid needs a cupboard - a place for solitude and reflection. I found plenty, but not all of them were very safe! So it's difficult to judge these things when one is young. That's what growing up is about, I suppose. But it's not boring, really! Just difficult to get to, and when you do you always seem to have lost something - perhaps it's the struggle.

first sit them down when they get back, and say:
mom, dad: could we work something out that I can stay home while you visit grandma. YOU can call me when you get there. I could let the answering machine pick up first to make sure its you calling.
would calling me or me calling you work out ok? and then LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY.
this is the best that I know, this is what I did for my 4th grader. or if something happens while they are gone, have a neighbor that you could go to.

Why do you want to stay at home for one night? You have not given reason for this. Is there any hidden plan of yours?
