after a long relationship and 2 years being single, im now ready to start dating again. i dont have the confidence to chat girls up i meet so im thinking of using a agency to help me.

Yes, I have heard of several who have met their partners through dating agencies. They seem very expensive though and you need to find a good one as I have also heard that they introduce you to people who are not suitable just to get a fee out of you. I personally met my husband on Yahoo Personals which is a great dating site. We are soulmates and very happy and have been married for 15 months. Why not give it a try? There are far more people on an internet dating site than an ordinary dating agency and you can sift through all the pictures and particulars before contacting them. Also you can communicate through email at first if you are shy. Good luck and I hope you find what you want.

You still have to meet them, talk to them and hopefully impress them, so how can a dating agency get round this. Just get out there and enjoy life someone will come along when you are not looking.

There's nothing wrong with agencies. Just be honest on your profile and be honest to yourself.
I don't get the negative thing about finding dates on agencies/internet. I'd rather be able to choose who I want to meet, get to know them first by emailing, rather than stumbling around half drunk trying to pick up equally drunk people at bars.
