I feel that the term 'country' is generalized. Do you mean do I care about the people of my country? Do I care about the environmental aspect of our country? Do I care about the future of our country? Do I care for the government of our country?
As far as the people of this country, of course I care about them. Whether they be Democrat, Republican, Black, White, Man or Woman, Christian or Athiest, I generally have enjoyed everyone I have met in my travels.
Do I care about my country from an environmental aspect? Of course I do. We have some of the most amazing natural features...The Grand Canyon, Lake Tahoe, Mt. Ranier, the California Redwoods, etc. This is our home, people, we need to treat it as such.
Do I care about our government? I think it's dangerous not to care about it. Whether you are Republican, Democrat or whatever, if you don't at least get mildly involved and vote, how do you have a right to criticize those in office? Of course you do because of Free Speech, but it drives me nuts when people complain about Bush, and I ask them 'Well did you vote in the last Presidential election?' And they say no.
And finally, I have 'cared' (i.e. in the context of nurturing) for this country in the sense I am an environmenlist, I recycle, I don't litter, I try to 'tread lightly'.

As a 15 year-old Filipino teen boy, I have been raised to love my country even though my country today is full of problems and corruption.
I do care for my country and simply as a 3rd year high school student, I will be able to show my care and love for my country by studying hard and achieving well in school, especially so that I'm enrolled in a public high school. By filling my mind with valuable things from school I am driving the things that our government provided to their best use and purpose, this is my basic but very important concept of showing care, love and doing my duty as a citizen of my country.
Next, is that I will help my country by applying for an intercultural progarm such as the AFS. I believe that applying for such a program will help me learn how to love and care for my country much better because in an intercultural program you are given the chance to represent your own country. I will serve the duty as an ambassador of goodwill to other nations and of course by this, I will be challenged to do the best of my abilities. By an intercultural program I will also be given the chance to share my culture and at the same time learn from other cultures, thus, I am helping my country and other countires bridge borders between themselves. This is what I can do for the welfare of my country.
Thank you for a very nice question.

I am an American and I care deeply about my country. It is worth preserving.
"There is a story, often told, that upon exiting the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created. His answer was: "A republic, if you can keep it." The brevity of that response should not cause us to under-value its essential meaning: democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also absolutely dependent upon the active and informed involvement of the people for their continued good health"

I can't believ howem many people say no. My advice get the EFF out if you don't care. WTF, you have been spoiled and think everything has been handed to you as it should be.
Its getting sadder every day.
The "get all you can " mentality is killing this country.
