I'm getting him a watch to give him on the wedding day (I know it's something he wants.) But I can't figure out which one... If you could recommend a specific watch or brand of watch please do. I'm looking for something with a steel, silver or white gold band.. and would spend up to $500 if I felt it was worth it. This is for a 30 year old professional.

Honestly... I would spend more than $500... I'm just not looking to.. if I found the perfect watch I'd drop a grand.. he's paying for us to go to a month in Italy.. and while I don't have as much as him if I thought he'd love it I'd spend more.

I would suggest Movado (my favorite and I know several professional men that love them). I would also recommend a Citizens watch. I think they are grossly underrated. My fiance loves them and he's in his early 30s & a professional. I bought him a gold watch for our 1 yr anniversary and he LOVES it. It looks gorgeous with many of his suits. And then he has a silver one for other outfits. It was about $200.00 (on sale). Fairly inexpensive but I think they are very classy and underrated.
Paying for a name isn't always the best way to go. Rolex is NICE, but extremely expensive and more of a bragging right than anything else. I say Movado or Citizens.

The Formula 1 Tags are about your price range. They are great watches for the adventurous guy. I have been looking at these watches for my own fiance. We are getting married next month!
Just an idea, with whatever watch you decide to get, a nice thing to do might be to get the back of the watch engraved. With Tags though, there's not much room to get the back engraved because there a tag mark.

I know that it costs a bit more 1,000-3,000 but all men LOVE Tag watches. You might be able to find one on ebay cheaper. Look into it. My huband has one and his best friends wife gave him one on their wedding day. My husband is obsessed with those watches.

Movado makes really elegant looking watches with stone faces. Not too sure on the price range, but you can find them at finer jewelry stores.
