Its all about having a balance. You need to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight. If you "eat whatever you want" and rack up a lot of calories, but don't use enough calories to burn it you will gain weight even if you exercise five days a week. It is important to get the right nutrition from the food you do eat.

It's true, but only to a certain degree, depending on how much a person eats and how much he/she exercises.
If you want to gain weight, you should have an excess calorie intake of +3000 cal. per pound. -3000 cal. does just the opposite. Maintaining your figure would require you to take in just as many calories as you need (and burning off all the excess during exercise). There are online calculators that help you determine how many calories a day you need (based on your height and weight).
The good thing about exercising regularly is that your metabolism stays fast. For those who don't exercise ordinarily, their metabolism is slower, causing them to put on weight more easily than those who are active.
Hope that helped...

false, u have to eat a healthy and balanced meal and exercise to burn off the calories...exercising 3 days a week will burn off some of them but the rest will be turned into fat and stored in your body, the best thing to do to stay slim is to control your eating and exercise for about 1 or 2 hours daily

That is rubbish - It's not all about being thin either - it's about being fit and healthy and maintaining a healthy weight. You must eat a healthy and balanced diet in order to keep well and to have the energy to exercise. If you stick to this you will be slim, healthy and full of energy !!

exercise does not wrk until you hve control on ur diet ..exercise and food consumption hve a connection.in simple words u hve to lose the calories you consume and exercise helps you do tht.if you want to maintain ur weight do proper exercise and eat a balanced meal with more of sallads.overeating though satisfies u its unnecessary for ur body and so u tend to increase the pounds and kilos.eat as less oil, butter, milk, milk products, sweet stuff and chocolates as u can but remember,do nt delete them frm your diet chart as they too r required in some amts.

Exercising three days a week is great but that doesn't mean you can totally neglect a sensible diet. You have to have *both* in order to lose weight. No sense jogging if you're going to sabatoge that effort with a lot of ice cream, for example.

Watching what you eat & exercise go hand in hand. You can't do one without the other & lose weight. I have recently lost 86 pounds by watching what I eat, exercising & working out in the gym. It's hard work but it's worth it!

It depends on your matabolism doesn't it? I think the idea behind excercising is to stay healthy, build strong bones and build muscle (which also helps to burn calories). I think if you want to maintain a figure you need to eat healthy and excercise moderately.
