What they see in their dreams depends on how much they could ever see. If someone has been totally blind since birth, they only have auditory dreams. If someone has had a measure of sight, then that person dreams with that measure of sight.

I can see there's a lot of misunderstanding on this question. I don't think anyone's trying to insult people who can't see, they are just interested in what these people dream about, as dreams are usually compiled entirely of images.

It is likely that somebody who has become blind during their life will dream much like people who can see, although their "image" dreams may only involve the parts of their life where they could see and the rest would be more auditory. This will be the case for those people who are blind from birth - their dreams are probably more sounds and their own brain interpreting them in the same way that some people see patterns when they listen to music, even if they are not blind. As for the real truth of the matter, I can't say because I am not blind and tend to have rather vivid image dreams all the time. It may be worth investigating the subject further as it appears to be a very interesting subject.

it depends on their nature of blindness . Blindness by birth have an issue of having formalizing images and pictures in their mind . They do see shapes and colors and lines which are associated with people , color and concepts , so they see dreams like us but they use different pictures and processing mechanism .

Blind people after some time have same dreams like us no different .

I have a friend who has been blind since she was a child. She tells me that sometimes she is blind in her dreams but at other times she can see. In our converstion she described the fence and countryside and the horse she was riding in her dream.
She is amazing, has four children, a degree and can do almost anything a sighted person can do.

What fabiola means is that "when a fully-abled person dreams, they see images, what does a blind person sense when they dream?" (If anyone sees this as insulting to blind people, I apologise, that was not the intent of this question).

An amazing question as if they are blind from birth they have never seen anything, not even a human or a tree. Their mind's eye would have very unique interpretations of everything in the world around them. It would be amazing if we could see what they see.

thats an unanswerable question because its just the same as me asking you 'want do i dream of?' Having a disability does not make you less of a human being however much the disability may stop an individual from doing basic everyday things we all take for granted.
