From what I understand you took your antibiotic 2 hours later than you were supposed to?

If that's the case, then take your next one at the regularly scheduled time as long as it is not too close together.

And hour here or there shouldn't make that much difference.

A whole day... that's a problem.

If you delay your antibiotic for some reason, count the time from the one you took on schedule not the one that was late. For example, if you get a tid antibiotic you take it every 8 hours. If you start at 7, the rest come at 3 and 11. If you don't take the second until 4, take the next at 11.

Antibiotics are eaten in intervals to keep the dosage in your blood at a certain level such that it is effective.
For example if you take antiseptics for bacteria, once the dosage falls below a certain level, it not only do not produce the effect of killing the bacteria in the blood, worse case is that the bacteria could actually grow immunity over this certain drug. Thus the next time you have this illness/infection again, you will require maybe eating 2 pills instead of 1 that you are having now.
So I suggest you, not to skip medication anymore, and not to include the 2 hours into the next intake.

You mean you started 2 hrs late - doesn't matter. You should always take it on time. Its ok if you take them sooner but try not to delay. Better taken without much food. Don't drink alchohol. Don't miss a dose.

as long as the next dose is at a scheduled time-you should be ok.

most prescribed antibiotics are meant to be taken one, twice,or three times a day-no time specified. if you're doctor told you the specific times he/she wants you to take them-then follow their instructions and just make sure the next pill is taken on time and you will be fine

The doctor should have written out the directions that he wants you to use. In general they are to be as spread out as possible to keep the levels in your blood up as much as possible

If you just missed one dose, and were a couple of hours late taking it, don't worry. Just take the next one as scheduled, and don't miss any more doses.

As long as you are taking it, and using the whole, prescription, otherwise you leave yourself open for getting a resistant disease.

Start your pills asap (with food) if noted on bottle.
