Various cancers have different survival rates. Colon cancer has the highest rate of survival because of aggressive scanning techniques. 95% reach the 71 month goal set for most cancers. Prostate and breast cancers have the lowest survival rates especially when they are discovered late. Stage 3 or 4. Survival depends on the health of the individual when it is diagnosed and the attitude of the patient. I know of one lady diagnosed 4th stage colon cancer that had spread to the liver. She has gone through 12 chemo treatments and jokes with all the nursing staff and does her darndest to get the doctors to laugh. She lost her lashes, eyebrows and most of her hair and has given many people on the oncology ward hope and laughter. So far she has made it two years. She is still undergoing treatment for the side affects of the chemo, but she's going strong.
4th stage cancer generally has a 17% survival rating. There is a new cancer out there called Inflammatory Breast Cancer that is deadly, so far survival rate is low. It has no lumps, and can be deadly. Here is the site: http://cbs11tv.com/health/local_story_229202217.html
This particular article had a positive outcome. Most articles I have read do not. Take care. Hope this helps.

Stage 4 doesn't mean much without the type of cancer and how the person is responding to treatment.
www.cancer.org has a list of all the cancers and the staging inpformation and the "5 year survival rate" by stage - which is a statistic for how many of ALL the people with the cancer will still be alive 5 years after diagnosis (on average)
Good Luck,

The five year survival rate takes into consideration all persons diagnosed with that type of cancer and how long they tend to live. I had endometrial cancer and was diagnosed at age 43 and in good health while most endometrial cancer patients are in their 70's when diagnosed. So in theory even though I had stage 3A cancer my odds are better than a 70 year old who is more likely to die from other causes or complications from treatment.
Stage 4 is late stage cancer but the prognosis is different for every type of cancer so you need to look at the specific cancer for that info.
Check out the American Cancer Society web site.

Survival rate is the likely hood that one will live through the event based on statistical data, stage 4 is an advanced usually metastasis condition with a poor prognosis based on statistical data.

it is no longer good it really is for constructive, back it relies upon upon the most cancers he has. every person can quote info inspite of the undeniable fact that it truly is human being and everyone appears to be like diverse. level 4 maximum cancers won't be able to be cured, it would want to correctly be placed on carry with treatment yet they merely isn't able to assert they're maximum cancers loose. A co-human beings spouse has had level 4 colon maximum cancers for the perfect seven years, Patrick Swayze had pancreatic maximum cancers that has an rather short survival era of about six months after prognosis and he lived twenty months, so he broke the norm and wrote a e book at the same time with his spouse about his ordeal. level 4 maximum cancers skill you opt to guage your existence and stay each second to it is fullest. maximum cancers is a awaken call, level 4 maximum cancers places truth proper on your face and on a daily basis counts. I actually have associates that are level 4 and they are taking existence in some unspecified time sooner or later at a time.

THose are good answers..
But it depends on the kind of cancer, how big the tumor is, etc...
I have known people with advanced cancer, either just a late stage, or it mets..and unfort some have passed away, but I know others that have survived and are still going after several years.
God Bless
