We just recently decided to buy a camcorder for home recording, and while I have done some research on line, I still am undecided as to what format I should buy.
I am looking for a small and handy cam, with image stabilisation and a good optical zoom (26-28x). I would like good picture and sound quality. I do not need gadgets or special effects and I dont need a still picture function. I obviously want something reliable, so I would need to go with a recognised brand and one which provides a good after sale service.
As for recording media (sigh). We have a Windows xp with a CD recorder and a DVD player (no record). I do not intend to do much editing but would like the option of deleting unwanted files. I want to be able to easily store (not necessarily on the PC) and view (no TV or video in my house) my videos, and am still unsure of which media to go for.
My budget is around $300.
Thank for your help on this one!
