Picnics are fun and easy. Unless you just want a vegetable one here is one that includes food for both of you available from your local supermarket:
Drinks:
* white or red wine
* Champagne
* bottled mineral water (Pellegrino, Perrier)
Recommended Breads
* Italian or French bread
* focaccia
* crusty loaf bread (black olive and herb breads are delicious)
* bread sticks
* cheese straws
* crostini
No-Cook Sandwich Fillings
* summer sausage
* soppressata (a type of sausage found at most deli counters)
* dry salami
* sliced prosciutto
* Asiago cheese
* provolone cheese
* bocconcini (bite-size mozzarella balls)
* roasted peppers
* caponata (eggplant spread)
* sun-dried or cherry tomatoes
* olives
* jar of pesto
* quartered artichoke hearts
For dessert: I would suggest fruit of your choice.
Enjoy :)

Hit a take-out salad bar in a big grocery and make a special customized salad. Make a nice mixture of greens and non meat additives and get a couple of kinds of dressing on the side to put on them at the picnic. In that gourmet section you can also find some nice cheese and a loaf of artisan bread and some great cookies or other treats for dessert. Add a couple of pieces of fresh fruit and drinks and you have a no-cooking feast.
You could also choose ingredients like cheese and marinated beans, veggies and cheeses, buy some large flour tortillas and make wraps without cooking. Or put your concoction in pita halves.

Strawberries; Hummus (Basha or Cedars brand- lemon flavored b/c its not so garlic-y) with Pita wedges; and Roasted potatoes (Dice them up with olive oil, rosemary, and your favorite spices, then put them in foil and cook them on a grill if you don't have an oven); Top it off with a nice light wine or iced tea if you don't drink alcohol. That should fill you up as well! She'll think your the sweetest guy in the world!

Fist off, I would like to say that is sooooo....sweet.
Fried chicken was always a favorite of mine on picnics. If your girlfriend is a vegetarian then may I suggest: loaf of fresh baked french bread, cheese, olives, sliced avacados, apples and a great bottle of wine....and for desert...well we'll just leave that one up to you doll.

Pick up some whole wheat pita bread and a container of hummus, cut up fresh veggies that are normally tasty when raw etc.
Or just bring items that she normally eats and you know she likes.

The most compulsory item in a picnic pack would have to be champagne and 2 beautiful crystal flute like glasses.
Cheers!

Ok please if it is romantic like then don't pack the KFC. Make a vegitarian pizza ...it is fun simple and you can get a warmer bag in th grocery section to pack it in...the work for you is picking the drinks...anything like apples and honey are good too! Good Luck!

A salad for starters then perhaps you have a take-out order of
eggplant parmesain. For dessert, chocolate covered strawberries.
