being a Brit living in America, I am often asked what my first "image" is of America. Mine used to be cheese burgers and then yellow school buses! Of course now that I have been here a while, I'd say Mexicans and XXX shops (bloody everywhere!). So tell me the first thing you think of when you think of England. Yes, I am aware I have too much time on my hands, thanks to IMMIGRATION!!!

in answer to woht's Q: What do you think about Mexicans living in the US? ('cause I'm Mexican) to me its the same as all the indians living in England....they are everywhere but provide us with great food! (although I must say I prefer the Mexican music to indian)

Thousands of tiny box houses wedged onto an island floating between the E.U. and the U.S., captained by Tony Blair grinning whilst we sink. (I'm still not happy am I).

The first thing that I think of when I think of England is Coronation Street and Emmerdale - I know that's completely stupid but I keep up on the visual updates of those shows so it's always the first thing. I then usually think about how great it was to rent a car and drive from London to Nottingham via backroads and how diverse and lovely the countryside and how charming the little towns were.

Just as a reminder: America is the whole continent, the country is the USA, you cannot call America to the US, please.
