Why do most people take the black watermelon seeds out? They really don't do any harm. Or do they? Or do you just not like to eat them?

Heh, we all know that they won't grow a watermelon tree in your stomach. And I really don't think they're crunchy. -shrug-

In American culture, we don't eat watermelon seeds, but in some Asian and Middle Eastern cultures roasted watermelon seeds are a popular snack just like pumpkin seeds.or sunflower seeds. They don't do you any harm but they are better roasted and salted.

Some people eat them, it's like eating sunflower seeds in the shell. Just some peoples' preference.

I take them out for my kids simply because my mom did for me. There really is no harm in them. I just always remembered my brother telling me a watermelon would grow in my belly if I ate them.

you recognize what you're able to do with watermelon.....positioned your vodka in it (extreme, my friends used to try this whilst we've been childrens, LOL, they actually 'injected' it in). After eating somewhat, you do no longer even word the seeds.....HA!!!!!!!!!

According to the Rugrats, a watermellon will start to grow in my belly if I eat a watermellon seed.

They have a small amount of poison in them, just like apple seeds. One seed wont kill you, or even be noticable ( i think) , but if you have too many, well, you gonna die. (or just get sick)

from what my pre-k teacher said.....if you eat those seeds you will start growing watermelons on your head....i still remember that!!!
