i bought an entensible baton, online, but a) extensible is illegal, where i live (california), and, b) though it had a wonderful psychological effect, it seemed quite flimsy, for real use. i felt one good blow would shatter it. i have a sturdier, longer, plastic one, now, but i really want just an electrified piece of rebar. schematics accepted.

hmm interesting. What model and brand did you buy that was flimsy and what model and brand did you buy that was study? If you an electrified piece of re-bar then I'd suggest getting a cattle prod. Although the current in one of those things would probably kill a human being if used on one.
