Then you haven't had it prepared correctly. Tofu can be marinated just like meat, and easily takes on flavors. I love it cooked into Pad Thai - spicy and delicious.

It can be bland, especially the texture as it'll often take on the flavour of whatever sauce you put it in. But I once had it at a Thai restaurant, where they'd marinated it in some kind of light sweet, aromatic and spicy dressing, then deep fried it quickly and it was absolutely spectacular - crispy and caramelised on the outside, with a soft juicy texture on the inside with that sweet, aromatic and spicy dressing drizzled over the top!
Mmmm...I must say I'm not usually a big fan of Tofu, but I was extremely pleasantly surprised by it! I've never had anything like that before or since.

It really depends on what you're eating it with. Being, as you say it, 'bland', tofu complements well with a great many Asian food that have thick sauces or gravies.
The best thing about tofu is the texture it adds and how natural it feels eating it whether its spicy, salty, sweet or sour!

Depends what you do with it because the texture varies... as does the taste. I don't actually find it any blander than I did chicken back when I ate meat.
Marinating gives it more taste; cooking method changes the texture. My favourite is tofu fried in hot groundnut oil until golden, with sweet 'n' sour sauce - mmmm.
But hey, each to their own. Just because you don't eat meat doesn't mean you'll automatically like tofu.

I like to have tofu as a filler, Im not vegetarian but I add it to whatever dish I'm cooking (meat or otherwise) and it sort of 'packs out' the meal considerably, its good because it isnt exactly fattening either and you can eat less of whatever it is you are having that might not be so healthy

Obviously you haven't prepared it correctly.Tofu is only as good as the way you cook it.I marinate mine in whatever marinade takes my fancy that day, or stir-fry it in various sauces. Some people like to fry it-sometimes I do, too.A good product to try is Tofu-To-Go;it's seasoned tofu that comes in various flavors and comes with a dipping sauce, and all you have to do to it is microwave it.You can get from Whole Foods Market. P.S. Hey, Ian H-who says I flavor it to taste like meat? That was a rather idiotic assumption on your part.I don't waste my time trying to replicate foods I've given up.

I think Tofu is pretty good depending on how you cook it. And I'm not even a vegetarian (sorry guys, I do eat chicken), but it is better for you than any meat. Red or otherwise.

I told my man the same thing. He eats tofu and let me try it for the first time.I didn't like it and he doesn't eat it with anything. He asked me if I could pick some up next time I go grocery shopping.I came home and handed him some foam plastic cups.He said,"What are these for?"I said."You wanted tofu so I got you some that the cups is what it tastes like".He laughed and and said I don't know what im missing.

If you tried Tofu, then ok. If you haven't and only seen it on TV or such, then you're ignorant. Its pretty good if you get use to eating Asian foods since mostly a lot of the Chinese foods have Tofu.

No, just because your vegetarian they expect you to eat any old crap, cooked or marinated properly it still sucks. Eat a good wide range of foods nothing in excess dig a small hole in the garden and bury tofu.
