A vegetarian does not eat dead animals. Since the eggs we eat are never fertilized, they do not contain a dead animal and therefore most vegetarians eat eggs (just like most vegetarians drink milk).
Very strict vegetarians, usually calling themselves vegan, won't eat anything that comes from an animal, and that means milk, cheese, eggs, and even honey.
So while SOME vegetarians may not eat eggs, it is okay to eat eggs and still call yourself a vegetarian. Now fish on the other hand...

there are degrees of vegetarianism, some eat eggs , dairy and cheese but not the meat from an animal, their reasoning being no animal was killed for these products (eggs sold at the store are infertile a chicken wouldn't have developed). some (vegans) eat no product that comes from an animal

Some do and some don't. It depends what type you are. The most common form of vegetarianism is lacto-ovo. That means they eat dairy and eggs. Regardless of that, no vegetarian eats meat at all (this includes chicken and fish)
There is no such thing as a pollo-vegetarian or a pesce-vegetarian by the way. If a person eats any type of flesh, he is not any type of vegetarian.

If you do eat eggs, the vegetarian police may arrest you! Then they put you in the veggie goulag, where they have forced labor in the community gardens and you have to sing "Kumbaya" all day.
Some people who call themselves vegetarians eat eggs and milk, and usually they call themselves lacto-ovo vegetarians. These people generally believe that it is OK to consume animal products that do not actually result in the death of the animal.
And, by the way, eggs ARE NOT baby chicks. Chicken eggs in the store are generally not fetilized, which means that eating eggs is the equivalent to eating chicken poop.

it just depends on the person and their beliefs... I hate the taste of eggs but I'll eat something with an egg like cake and what not. Also, some vegetarians eat just egg whites.

some do and some dont. I personally avoid them because I jsut dont like them. Some vegetarians will not eat eggs on the basis that it was a potential life. Vegans absolutley will not.
