Any finger foods are good. I always like to have lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, cut into grab size pieces. You move around a lot more than usual at a picnic, so you don't want to load yourself down with high-density carbs. Hot dogs, burgers, and fried chicken are easily held in the hands to eat. Don't take anything that needs to be cut by the eater. Sandwiches already sectioned into 4 pieces are good for smaller kids.

1. Patatoe salad
2. Hobo dinners

And if it's themed or to a season, there's watermellon, smores, chicken, pancakes...
Just basically easy grill or cook stuff. But mostly if it's edible, and easy, it's good to have at a picnic. Oh, and Sandwich's and chips with a drink of some sort is a good stand by.

Broccoli Raisin Salad!

Two heads of broccoli, just the tops.

Combine to make a dressing:
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of mayo, any kind.
Red Wine Vineger to taste
Sugar to taste

Handful of golden raisins
Handful of sunflower seeds
1/4 cup to 3/4 cup of red onion diced finely. (depends on what you like)
6-7 slices of crumbled bacon

Mix ingredients and pour on dressing. Chill it, but it tastes better when it sits overnight.

Sounds kind of weird, but it has a fabulous taste!
