There are two kinds of Herpes simplex viruses. HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 causes mouth ulcers also and it spreads indirectly through infected razors, towels, plates etc. HSV2 spreads through sex contact and causes genital as well as mouth ulcers. Most of the persons are carriers of Herpes simplex virus with no visible symptoms. Hence the spreading of genital Herpes by kissing cannot be ruled out.
Please see the webpages for more details on Herpes labialis and Genital herpes.

I got diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 5 yrs ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/Z0ZCv everything improved.
Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided me the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

If your skin touches the area of the other person who has cold sore while kissing.... yes you can get cold sore. If that area has an abrasion the chances increase further.
So take care.... remember cold sore is a viral infection and once the virus enters the body it stays in for good. You cant get rid of the virus. Anti viral medicines only relieve the symptoms but dont kill the virus

Sorry to say that by the time you find out you have Herpes you'd have gone through 2 or 3 boyfriends (depending on your sex).
Don't worry it will find you in time for you to tell the person that you really love - not those other losers you thought you loved before - that you have it, er ... along with them.
