is it ok to have a calorie intake of less than 1200 because you are a vegetarian?

If you ate that much everyday for like a year, you'd turn into an anorexic. Unless you sleep ALL day long....then it's FINE. but if you're active adn burning 1800+ you need to eat more.

No it's not.1200 calories is a bit low as it is-I would recommend 1500-1600 as a minimum.And that's only if you attempting to lose weight.1800-2000 is about normal for most healthy people.

A healthy vegetarian diet should have the same amount of calories as a regular meat eating diet.

assuming you are of average size, active, and healthy, 1200 is bad for you.

you should try to be between 1800-2000 calories, more if youre male and a lot more if youre pregnant.

Less then 1200 for anyone is on the low side.

Calorie needs depend on how tall and how old and how active you are, not on whether you eat meat.

No, you need 2,000 calories a day no matter what your food preferences are.
