No chicken or fish or pork or game or red meat. And a true ovo-lacto won't eat any derivative of them either. Which means no veggie soup in chicken broth. No Jello. No Fish Sauce at Chinese or Thai restaurants.

NO. A lacto-ovo vegetarian is STILL a vegetarian (NO MEAT), the difference is that they will eat the by-products of the meat, without actually eating any part of the animal flesh. No chicken, yet eggs are consumed. No fish, yet caviar is ok! SOME eat fish & do not consider it to be meat! It all depends on their ETHICS! A VEGAN will consume no part of any animal & will not use any products made from animals. A (true) VEGETARIAN eats nothing from animals, yet will wear leather shoes!

Pollo-Vegetarians would eat chicken
Pesto-Vegetarians would eat fish

but many would argue that these people aren't really vegetarians. If your asking because your cooking or buying food for a vegetarian you should steer clear of chicken or fish.

Ovo-Vegetarians would eat eggs
Lacto-Vegetarians would eat dairy

VEGANS avoid all animal products (but often each Vegan has their own personal guide lines that they try to follow)

If your trying to figure something out for a friend or relative it is always best to ask whats ok and whats not.

i guess it depends on the person. some people claim to be vegetarian and eat every animal besides cows. thats not a vegetarian though.

true vegetarians dont eat the flesh of an animal, but will eat its milk of eggs, or a byproduct of those items.

a true vegan wants nothing to do with using animals, therefore, no meat, poultry, seafood, dairy/eggs, leather garments, health/beauty products tested on animals, no natural wool, fur, ect.

No. Chicken is meat. So is fish, really. If you're a vegetarian you don't eat any meat. Or as one friend put it, "I don't eat anything that has a face."

No. A semi vegetarian who eats fish is a pescatarian. One who eats chicken I don't know, but they're not a vegetarian! If they eat little meat or fish, you can just call them a semi-vegetarian. That's what I am, because I eat a mostly vegetarian diet but I sometimes eat wild meat or fish.
