All insoluble fibre goes straight through you, that's the point of it: keeps you regular.

Freshly steamed on the cob with butter, its a great munchy food, great for diets and keeps you regular (- maybe replace the butter with chilli olive oil or something for the diet bit!!)
On the cob BBQ'd is really good too, and it takes ages for the kids to eat - hence, giving you a bit of bloody peace during supper time!!! Thats the best thing ever about it!!!

I think if you chew it more, the center pulp will be available for digestion (ie the center has food value). The outer fibrous part will always go straight through undigested.
Sweet corn is very useful for working out your digestive transit time, if you were so inclined (like if you thought you were constipated)!

They basically are like edible ball bearings. They taste good, and make the wheels turn all at the same time. Almost the perfect food.

It tastes nice though, and most kids seem to eat it - have you ever tried getting small kids to eat veg?
