Lamb, chicken, beef dishes. You'll always be safe with the Gyro or Chicken Souvlaki. Most everyone likes that. Try a greek salad too. Those are always pleasing.

Yum!
Get either a souvlaki wrap (marinated pork tenderloin wraped in grilled pita bread) or a good greek salad.
If you've never had Greek food, you may want to stay away from something like moussaka (which is a type of eggplant lasagna minus the pasta if you will, with a cream sauce on top.) I like that sort of thing, but some of the authenic places may put a little cinnamon in it, and that would take you off guard. If they have grape leaves, consider yourself lucky, and get a side of those with tzatziki sauce to dip them in. Thier olives are strong, so don't let it take you off guard.
You're in for a real treat! I used to work in a greek rest. That's how I met my hubby, 15 years ago. We still keep in touch with the owners, naturally. :-)
Baklava is a good dessert!

Try the gyros sandwiches (formed lamb braised on a skewer served with yogurt sauce on pita bread) or a Greek salad: spinach, lettuce, artichoke hearts, feta cheese, garlic vinaigrette. Grilled lamb shanks, braised fish, moussaka (eggplant casserole.) Enjoy!

Depends which part of the world.
If in Greece........ you can order everything Roast, Stove, Casserole.
Australia..
Entree.... Greek dips with ouzo
Main dishes.....seafood platers or spit roast platers. with retsina
desert...... Halva or sweets (baklava, saraglakia) with Greek coffee.
America I presume, something equivalent

Some restaurants have also Mousaka or eggplants "papoutsaki" which is worth to try it.
Also Ntolmades (stuffed cabage leaves with mince and rice) in white avgolemono (egg-lemon) sauce is worth to taste too.
(Avgolemono is the characteristic white sause of the greek cuisine)

I love spanikopita for an appitizer. Kabobs are wonderful for a main course. Check out the specials of the day and try something new. It's always cheaper at lunch and you never know, you may find a new favorite food.

Moussaka! It's great, eggplant layered with a minty-tomato beef mixture, topped with bechemel sauce. It's soo good.
