Ok. I Feel REALLY dumb posting and asking this but its gotten to the point where I have no where else to turn. I know alot about hypoglycemia and diabetes- I know plenty of people with them.I know what low blood sugar is like- I have suffered from it since I was a child. When I was young it wasnt bad- once every 3 months? Now its gotten to the point of 3-4 times a week. I always eat something and it goes back up and I stop shaking but its really irritating. Today I had a really bad episode, I was in tears... And it feels like it gets worse each day. Problem is I CANT go to my mom... I've tried and she doesnt seem to get it, and I dont know anyone I can go to. Plus I dont have insurance. Im 15. I dont drive yet, and I dont do my own appointments or anything. Plus im afraid that if I DO find a way to get tested, and I dont have anything wrong with me people will think im faking. I dont know what to do... Sometimes I wish I would just faint to fix it. some help would REALLY be appreciated

First you can go to the American Diabetes Association for some answers.
Depending where you live you may want to contact your hospital and find out which clinic or doctor is researching both types of diabetes. You may qualify to partisipate in one of the studies and recieve the following for free, plus allowance for time and travel.
1.Testing for Blood Sugars in a clinical setting giving you a better look at your history.
2. Health Check Up.
3. Testing Supplies.
4. Medicine should you need it.
In San Antonio, Texas we have a complete hospital devoted to the illness and there are medicines and proceedures being tested year around. The hospital known as Diabetes and Glandular Research at the Medical Center which is one of them.
As for your fear of NOT having diabetes!
It is a silent killer and no one, I mean NO ONE should redicule you for being concerned and doing something about it.
Being wrong is alot better then having and not acting. I'm 52 and have Type 2. I didn't act soon enough and am now paying the price with neoropathy, dim vision, recurring cellulitist infections and an open chest wound from February 2, 2006 that will not heal.
When the doctor lifts up my muscle on my left side you can see my sternum, ribs and lungs.
GO GET CHECKED AND LIVE LONG. If your positive for diabetes it isn't the end of the world, well it is if your in denial as I
was. Proper diet, exercise and testing with doctor visits will help.
There are times I wish I could DIE to fix it!!

Look you know your body better than anyone if you are having a problem tell the test will not come back negative if you are having these problems. Go to the American diabetes association on line and get info to show your mom. This is nothing to play with. You can tell your mom how bad you feel show her the info and ask to go to the doctor, if she does not take you there are other options like a school nurse, a friends mom, or walking or biking to a clinic or calling a ambulance you could even tell social services. We live in the middle of nowhere and I would hope my son would call for help during a episode rather than wait. With hypoglycemia eating the same amount of food at the same time for every meal is very important you need a dietitian and endocrinologist.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Aside from the obvious answer of going to the doctor you need to eat properly and at the same times each day. Trying not to eat knowing that your blood sugar can go low is a foolish thing for you to do. Start paying attention to the time of day that your sugar gets low (get a notebook and write it down). If it is between meals you need a snack between each meal. If it is during the night you need to make sure you eat a snack before bedtime. And when I say snack I don't mean a stick of celery. I am talking about something that will keep your blood sugar in control (fruit or crackers with peanut butter always works). Try going to the library and looking for information there or a bookstore. You also have access to the Internet so go to the American Diabetes website. Try typing in hypoglycemia on Google. You will be amazed how much information is at your fingertips. But, more than anything else, you need to see a doctor. And if your mother has a brain in her head she will see to it that you get there - insurance or not.

I know this can be really frustrating. The worst I had ever found myself at was 25... I should not have been conscious! I would first talk to your mother, and take information to her from the internet. Find a reputable organization, such a Joslyn, to get the information. Also, let her know that hypoglycemia often times becomes diabetes later on, so keeping things in control now can help. Basically, your pancreas has been unnecessarily working overtime and eventually it putters out. Lastly, in the meantime, choose your snakcs wisely when you feel an episode. I know things like cnady may bring you up quickly, but they have no lasting effect in your system and you will crash again much more quickly. Choose snacks with more fiber, such as trail mix, oatmeal snakcs, or granola bars, to help keep your blood sugar at a more even keel for longer. You can also check the diabetic food section at your grocery store/drug store that can help as well and that I find to be quite tasty.
And I feel for you... my family used to think I was a hypochondriac. I had many of the classic symptoms of diabetes, so I had an appointment to go get tested. My step-dad said to me, "Do you really want this? Do you want to be sick?" Of course I didn't want to be sick, but I cancelled my appointment none the less. About a year later, when I was ready to go on birth control, my doc required a full blood work-up, and that's when we found it. I'd probably had it for 3-4 years. I am now 25 and have been diagnosed for 6 years this month. It can be very helpful to find a group on Yahoo for hypoglycemics. Try these guys:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/hypo/
Join the group and start asking questions. Those who suffer and have experienced this can be most helpful. Good luck.

I have the same thing...they say the very worst thing is to eat a candy bar when it happens. It will make your sugar spike really high and then really low. The best thing to do is drink orange juice, it's a natural sugar. There isn't a way to test you. They can give you a blood test, but your sugar might not be low that day. Why doesn't your mom get it? Does she understand what you're talking about? Work on talking to her, and in the meantime, look for low priced clinics you might be able to go to without insurance. If your mom still isn't helping, ask another family member. It will get better, good luck!
