im not a vegan, but i dont think theyre freaks. I think it would be quite a commitment, very hard to be completely vegetarian. I know i couldnt do it, but if its something youre passionate about, more power to you. who cares what others think about it. do it for you and your health and body, not thiers

I have been a vegan for 6 years now. I have received many negative comments from people, but I don't let it bother me. Everyone is entitled to their own choices, and if I choose not to eat meat or animal products it's no one else's business. When I first started being a vegan I had a tough time because my family are big meat eaters and they would tease me daily, but now whenever I cook dinner, they actually love the vegan food I make and they understand that me being a vegan is not a big deal. I think you just shouldn't let it all get to you because it's not worth it. I hope I answered your question well, and good luck staying vegan. :)

I don't think you are a freak i just would like to know what the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan is my friend was a vegan and switched to eating meat because no one would leave him alone and his wife would not cook meals for him but he is very skinny and cant tolerate the cold could that have anything to do with not eating enough protein not necessarily from meat but other ways too how do you get enough daily protein and calories that your body needs

Hang in there. I've been a vegetarian for the last 15 years and have weathered all the weird reactions, from family, dates, etc. I've stopped saying I'm a "vegetarian" and simply say I don't eat meat. Now, I've turned it around on those nosey people that try to make what I eat their business. I tell them it is my choice and shouldn't affect them. However, most people I encounter really don't care. And those who do aren't people I want to talk to anyway.

I'm not trying to be rude, here, I just have a question for YOU.
Does "vegan 100%" mean that you only eat fruit that falls naturally to the earth?

I think that's what it means to many people...

I'm not a vegan, but I am a vegetarian, and I hate it when people treat me differently because of it. For example, when my parents and I would go out to eat, my stupid father would explain to every waitress that I'm a vegetarian without my consent and it pissed me off so much that he kept doing it that I had to tell him to stop. Also, recently, he told my mother, who had just gotten home from work, "jokingly" that I had decided to stop being vegetarian, which I said absolutely nothing about and definitely don't plan on doing. It seriously pisses me off when he does stuff like that, you know?

I don't think you are freaks. I just pray that you are getting all the nutrients you need.

Some go into that lifestyle without knowing everything that is needed to maintain health while living that way.....My daughter is one of them. Please pray for her well-being. She is a vegetarian who does not like vegetables.

Why does it have to be an issue? Don't make an issue of it, and people won't think anything. Myself, I don't make comments about what other people eat, unless they make a big deal about it themselves. In the same way, don't make an issue of my yogurt or tuna salad!

i just have my own opinion about vegans.

there is this thing called the circle of life and other animals eat other animals.

and secondly when you brush your teeth next, you will notice you have incisors and canine teeth for cutting and chewing meat because humans are supposed to eat meat.

thats just my opinion though.
