I think you should wait to see if this will be forever... If it is forever, wait until you guys get married, then get intimate. Make sure he is safe and takes care of himself (medications, outbreaks, etc). Once you guys are married, then you can choose to have protected or unprotected sex, since you know the risks involoved, and you 2 are commited. I would not suggests risking contracting herpes until you knew 100% that you were both commited to each other for the long run. Once commited, go with what you are ocnfortable with. Either way, stay safe.
I am so very happy to hear that he cares enough about you to tell you that before you guys were intimate, so you could make a sound decision for yourself. That shows a lot of repect on his part. Good for you 2.

Yes, there isn't a. Herpes is precipitated via an epidemic. Actually, there may be little treatment for viruses at the moment. The simplest factor that you'll be able to ordinarily do in relation to a viral contamination is toughen the immune method and desire it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune method cannot win in opposition to it. Thus you simplest get to regard the indications. Once you are inflamed, it remains with you for existence. So do not get inflamed. I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

He is a man with some scruples and you are very lucky. Herpes is an inconvenience, nothing else. But best to wait as you could get it. If he loves you he will understand you wanting to wait. Otherwise, use a condom and do not have sex while he has an outbreak.
Good luck

First of all, I'm sure the reason this guy waited until he told you b/c first he was scared to tell you and how to break it to you. Seems like you both love each other b/c he does care about your health so he did not want to put you at risk by jumping into bed with you. : ) If you both love each other stay with each other or take a break to find out what you really want. Don't be judgemental and support him. This is a big secret he told you and he trusted you to tell you the news.

All I can say is look into yourself. I do not know how your relationship is, and have no way of knowing. However, I would suggest that you are sure of your feelings and his. I would also suggest that you always you precautionary measures and make certain that he is taking all of his meds and not in a flare up when you are intimate. Good luck.

If you don't want to run the risk of getting it, don't get intimate. If you do decide to get intimate, use a condom and only when he is not having an outbreak.

That was very cool that he told you up front. That says alot about his character. If you use condoms and don't have sex when he has a breakout, you probably won't get it. I should know. I was married to someone for 10 years that had it, and I never contracted it.

I agree with these other answers. One warning: you can still contract herpes when using a condom while he is not having an outbreak.
