Did you give him oral sex?? If he doesn't have oral herpes (HSV1) and you give him oral sex it is possible for him to get them on his genitals. If he has had a cold sore before then he would be immune to getting them in that area. He definetely needs to go to the doctor now and get a herpes select blood test. The next time he has an outbreak make sure he gets to the doctor quick to get a culture. If he takes the test now and is negative but is positive in 3 months then this is a new infection and you need to wonder what he was doing in Iraq. If you have more concerns send me a message.

If the sores are painful, it might be genital herpes. Women can have herpes not visible because they could be up inside the vagina. Canker sores that are not painful and clear on their own point to possible syphilis. People can carry an STD for years and not even know it. Take care of business and get checked ; both of you. It's not a sin to have it; it's a sin to keep it. It may not even be an STD. Forgive each other and love each other.

will this is a tough question and yes a person can have an STD and not have any symptoms......but also there is another thing to consider here....is that he was in a different climate and also was not exposed to human body fluids.....this may have been a shock to his body....but i do not know.....the best advice would be to both go see a doctor and get tested....and see if it something to be concerned about.....but you also know that he might have contact over there with someone also that you don't know about....and i am sorry to put it out there like that.....but better to find out now then wait till some real damage happens.....but as i said it could be the change for him.....climate and human contact.

As a health educator and a military veteran I can assure you it takes more than 2 days for symptoms like that to develop. He was definitely exposed before he came home. The women overseas are known disease carriers (my hubby and I were both in the military). Do not have sex with him again until he gets a full STD workup by his doctor. You should also do this too. This is serious and he may have exposed you to god knows what in addition to the herpes. I hope you get the treatment you need and soon.

Yes, you can carry an STD without having symptoms. "Cold sores" on his penis sound like herpes. If you have oral herpes (you get cold sores on your mouth) you could transfer the virus to his genital during oral sex. There's actually two types, but the oral type can infect skin elsewhere.

Herpes is only transmissable during an "attack" so even if you have the herpes virus, if you have no sores it certainly wasn't you that passed it on.
I've linked to a good guide to herpes below.
Anyway, he needs to go to the doctor so that you both know for certain what he's got. It may not even be herpes -- perhaps he's got allergic dermatitis or some other skin condition. I get that from certain brands of washing powder -- perhaps he's sensitive to whatever you're washing his underpants in!

to be honest with you, if he thinks you cheated on him, i would get a test done, but iwould have both of you go to the doctor. my ex called me after 2 1/2 yrs and said that iwas the last person he was with before he and his gf got together and he took her virgintiy. she had a papsmear a 1 1/2 ago and everything came back normal, now she went and got one and her results came back last week and he called me and said that i gave him HPV which is herpes and he says its not herpes that its something else and he siad its impossible that i didnt give it to him....IVE HAD a papsmear before he and i had sexual relationships, and like in april and both came back normal, so i guess things take a while to show up,

It wasnt you sweetie, there is an incubation period and you would have to have been having a breakout. He got it 7-10 days before he was with you.

i think due to some allergic problem, that may be due to dryness inside ur vagina and the heat generated at the time of intercourse, don't worry use some gel or lubricating oils.
ok bye
