and do you knife the top off or beat the egg about the head with the back of a spoon? Do you put the eggshell bits neatly in the eggcup or do you litter them round the plate to get mixed up with the salt and pepper?

No, I don't have OCD. Others may reveal a proclivity towards it by their answers, of course, but we all have our little foibles. I beat my eggs over the head and messily peel the bits of shell off, personally. I'm not obsessed with it - it's just the way I do it!

Definitely open the pointy end first, and i carefully tap the edges with a spoon and then take the top off and scoop the bit of egg left in and eat that straight away. Have to make sure there are no stray bits of shell anywhere which could get into my mouth cos I hate that crunch if a bit escapes. Then put a bit of salt on and if i can't see the yolk dive straight in with a buttered soldier and hope that when i take it out it's a runny one. Yum, yum think I'll go and make one for my breakfast now
