Hey, close to vegetarian is very good. Don't sweat it. You can be a total veg when you leave their care. Read up on things, seafood contains heavy metals, so maybe they will agree to buy you some fake meats. Eggs have plenty of protein which would put you more as a vegetarian in status. There is such a thing as "soynut butter" and almond butter. If you look hard, there might be a brand that is made in a factory that doesn't process peanuts (making it safe for you to eat). Email the companies and ask.
Seafood isn't considered vegetarian- the things you are eating had eyes and moved independenty, thus are "animals" of a sort.

I eat seafood on occasion for the protein blast and I still consider myself basically a vegetarian. I tried eating a vegan diet and for me it was too strict. I felt weak. I incorporated dairy and eggs into the basic fresh vegetables, fruits and whole grains diet and still I felt weak. I was eating a lot of soy too. Once I started eating seafood about once a month, I now have strength and energy. For me once a month is all it takes. I usually eat my seafood as sushi, to get the full benefit of the protein. But technically these are animals too. They are alive. So a lot of vegetarians will give you a lot of flack but do whatever is right for you.

No, seafood is not vegetarian.Fish, crab, and shrimp are animals, and true vegetarians do not eat dead animal flesh. Many parents are under the erroneous impression that we need animal protein in our diet, but plant-based protein serves nicely.Good sources are beans, soy products(veggie burgers, veggie ground round, etc.), and whole-grain products(whole-grain pasta, whole-grain bread, oatmeal, and more).Read your nutrition labels.Protein is not hard to get in this country, whether you're veggie or not. That said, you might be stuck having to eat the way your parents think you should til you leave home, unless you can prove veggie can be healthy. What might help is going to the library and checking out vegetarian books that discuss the nutritional viewpoint.

A person is only a true vegetarian if he or she eats no animal products whatsoever. That includes any seafood.
You have a unique situation though. Why not have Mom or Dad take you to see a nutritionist so that they can get true answers from an expert. That will make them feel better and you probably won't have to eat seafood again.

pescetarians- only meat consumed is seafood
semi vegetarian-eats poultry
vegetarian- eats no meat at all
You can eat beans or nuts for protein. You are allergic to peanut butter. Can you eat pistachios, almonds, walnuts, cashews, etc.?
Bean quesadillas are good for protein.
You do not need to take pills just because you are vegetarian. I'm vegan and do not take pills, yet I get all vitamins/minerals needed.
In fact, vegans and vegetarians can, and do get enough protein and other essential nutrients in their diet. Here's a complete guide for vegetarians. Vegetables, beans, nuts, and soy products provide abundant amount of essential nutrients. Aim for very colorful vegetables such as broccoli, cucumbers, carrots etc. These types of veggies are especially high in vitamins, calcium, beta-carotene, zinc, and a lot more. They also provide a good source of proteins.
Beans and soy products (tofu, soy milk) are excellent sources of protein. And don't think that these types of protein are inferior to animal protein - they're not. Makes good sense to lower meat intake doesn't it? Especially when meats are high on saturated fats - the type that's bad for you.

If you eat meat products then you are, by definition, not vegetarian. I'm not sure where people get the impression that only eating certain animals means they're vegetarian. It seems like a label people want to have without the commitment it entails.

A true vegetarian does not eat the flesh of any member of the animal kingdom, including seafood.
You can get protein frum numerous other sources besides peanut butter. Eggs, milk and other dairy products, nuts, seeds, legumes, leafy greens, whole grains. You need to educate yourself a bit so that you can counter your parents' concerns (because they are misplaced.)
