Well, when you are a Vegan Level 5 it means that you only eat root vegtables(potatoes etc, anything that grows underground) because when they say they don't eat anything that cast a shadow they mean when the plant is growing not after you pick it.
And water, well, it's essential, and you need it, they mean plants, not liquids.

Level 5 Vegan was created for an episode of The Simpson's. Not a real thing.
While there may, in fact, be people who only eat roots, unless they are eating them underground there will still be a shadow.
