Any illness, including the stomach bug, will cause sugars to rise. When you get sick, your body is stressed and releases stress hormones like cortisol which, among other things, raises blood sugar. Ordinarily, your body compensates by raising your insulin levels, but with the diabetes and all that... your sugar goes up. If you're on insulin, you may need to increase your dose while you are sick. Talk to doc first before changing your med regimen though. If you already have a sick day plan, follow that.
