Yes. People who are medically cleared to be unable to work can receive disability. However, if you remain employed during your leave of absence, you are not eligible. Once you start working again after unemployment, then you are no longer eligible. Worker's compensation if you are injured on the job works differently under separate laws.

Yes, you can apply for disablity. But I'm not sure they will approve you if it's only for a month. You might be able to get unemployment though. Hope you feel better soon.

Only if permanently disabled. In your case, you would want to look into short-term disability through your company. Check with your HR dept. to fill out the paperwork to go on your medical leave.

not for a month. Only if your company has and you subscribe to short term disability. It is prob not that major if you only need a month off. Save some money and get thru it.

Try asking your Human Resources person. I think you can, I had carpal tunnel and couldn't work for a few months and I did get disability payments. That was a worker's comp case, though.

You can ask your HR about what the FMLA. BY law they have to let you off work for medical reason and you can not lose your job over it. By the way FMLA stand for Family Medical Leave Act.
