My aunt is suffering from giddiness and 128/66 was the reading I get from the BP reader. I gave her Procholorperazine which the doctor previously prescribe for giddiness. Should I sent her to the doc or should I wait and see if her condition improved after taking the medication?

Btw, my aunt's age is around 89 years old. Not sure if this is common for elderlies.

She vomitted non stop since the last time I posted this question and eventually I brought her to the A&E this afternoon. Put her on the drip for dehydration and subsequently prescribe something for gastric and charcoal. She seems ok now.

The blood pressure if fine.

The wide pulse pressure referred to by the other poster could be due to several cardiac conditions from "hardening of the arteries" to aortic regurgitation, but it is unlikely to be causing the giddiness. And at 89 years, it may not be appropriate to pursue the cause of the wide pulse pressure.

The giddiness could be dementia. The prescibed medication suggests that to me. What does the patient's physician say?

Elevated Blood pressure has no symptoms. 128/66 for the most part are good numbers. Blood pressure changes through out the day so there are ranges. If you believe you have a problem or have a family history of High blood pressure have yourself examined by a doctor. If you believe your giddiness is a problem again see a doctor.

Your pressure is fine, but difference between two figures is load on heart. That is more, that is why you feel giddiness. As soon as you get up, drink about 4 glasses of 8 oz each water. If water is stored in copper vessel whole night that will be better. It may not be possible to go to 4 glasses in the beginning, start with just 2 glasses and reach 4 glasses in say a fortnight. all water will be thrown out by kidney in just 2 hours. Check your b.p. after 3 weeks and rejoice. Fee for this consultation is just you will tell this simple therapy to 10 more friends. This comes from ayurveda, termed as "ushapana" and is recently researched by Japanese doctors for effectiveness!!!
Giddiness could also be due to low blood sugar in early morning when you get up. IF that is case, just eating 4 dates soaked 2 hours in a cup of water will solve problem. THat can be done as soon as u get up!
After reading the info that age is 89, water therapy as well as dates is a most recommended, do not put the allopathic poison in her frail body. Low blood sugar appears to be her problem. YOu can get it checked up as fasting sugar level. Let her live simple natural life!

That is a normal blood pressure, so the giddiness may be because you are healthy and happy :)

No, you are not in any risk depending how tall you are. If you are very tall there might be a little risk that you might be a little dizzy when you rise up. 128 ? you might be tall, aren't you?
