If you're going to Thailand, I don't think that finding a vegetarian menu will be a problem since the greater part of the populace are Buddhist. Granted, many Buddhist still choose to eat meat, but most Buddhist operated businesses have a variety good options for vegetarians. Like vegetable curry. I recommend the rice noodle soup with a slice of tomato and some water cress. Just mention that you prefer no meats, and they will be more than happy to accommodate. Remember to be polite and respectful, and the Thai people will be warm up to you very quickly. Remember to take your shoes off at the door if you get invited into someone's house. Finally, remember that there are a few meats that even conservative Buddhist find acceptable (like fish). Most meat, fish, and insect dishes can be clearly identified, but just ask what something is if you're in doubt.

food should be no problem in thailand, there are many restaurants in thailand all over that caters for vegetarian. Just speak to the waiter and they will whip up a good meal for your consumption. The Hotel Management where u are staying can give you the best advice. Dont let food be the setback of your trip. Have a good holiday
