No, HIV is a very difficult virus to catch. It requires blood to blood contact. On some occasion blood to mucous membrane contact (oral, eye, vaginal, rectal) is enough to allow transmission. Intact skin is fine. Inadvertant needle sticks are the most common way health care providers are accidentally infected. Blood on skin is of no significant risk.

Like everyone said, if he had no broken skin, it would be very rare. BUT...the HIV virus can take up to 6 months to a year before someone tests positive, so he should be tested 6 months from now and again 6 months after that to be safe. If the two of you are having sex, be sure to use condoms until then.

No, it isn't because there has to be an exchange of blood. Most seroconvertion should take place in a month time. You could have a p24 test or a pcr its costly but it might give you both peace of mind.

Take care

0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance. I work in a hospital, no open wound no HIV. Even when there is an open wound it can still be relatively difficult to get HIV.

Nothing is 100% but since your boyfriend did not have any open cuts on his hands, and providing that he washed his hands very well after the exposure, I would say that he is at a very minimal risk. I would not really worry about you getting it from him because of this incident.

In agreement with the rest it's highly unlikely he will get infected by the virus. Don't worry too much. It is wise to practice safe sex in the mean time though.

If he's been tested twice, within a month, and both times were negative, he's OK. Don't worry.
