I am a Med Tech. Even though I am a professional and have been trained to perform and analyze lab data and what their significance is I do NOT have a license to practice medicine and cannot give you a diagnosis based on lab data alone. (Even when it is obvious - like a positive HCG means someone is pregnant - it is against the law for a med tech to "diagnose" someone and tell a patient that they are pregnant.) A lab value is just one of many tools that a physician uses to diagnose and treat patients.
