I know it's crazy, but I don't mind going out for breakfast or lunch alone. It seems as if those are times when it is all right not to have a companion, but oh how I hate to eat dinner alone in a restaurant!!! Am I alone in this?

I hate it as well. You always get that oh-what-a-pity stare from the other tables and end up looking at your mobile phone and watch just to look like ur there just to wait for someone to drop something off and thought why not just take a bite meantime.

Anyhow Im always alone eating out most of the time and im getting used to it now

I understand I hate eating alone in a Restaurant.
Even if the food is good, I can come out being depressed.
If I do go out then, I try to select a Restaurant with a bar.
I know a restaurant with a bar , you can see the food being cooked in front of you, this can be fun.
The problem is that I think many restaurants do not like to see single people in the place, you are potentially wasting a chair.
I notice waiters spending more time with a couple than single people in theory it should be the reverse.

i simply love to dine alone, especially dinner in a great establishment. i love to eat out and i love to treat myself. i'll have an especially good book with me, i sometimes dress to the nines and i thank God that i can afford to do whatever i want to do! i've had some of the most expensive food in the world...not saying i'll eat it again but i tried it because i was paying for it myself. probably wouldn't have done it if i was on a date, you know? and i've never really been the eat-out-with the girls type.
try it a few times with an open mind. just until you can be comfortable with yourself and feel self-assured with your oneness.

I hate to eat alone too. I feel like I am being starred at, like I am out of place. I look at everyone else and I am always the only one by myself....so now I am strickly drive-thu!

I used to be the same way, but now I just hit happy hour for a couple of glasses of wine & sit back & people watch. It's great to sit back & guess what's really going on with your neighboring tables ( ie, 1st dates, divorce discussions, talks about the kids, etc)
