I am not on Symllin but have prescribed it for my patients. I can help a Type 1 lose weight, as well as helping control BGs. Losing weight can reduce the amount of insulin a type 1 needs, as excess weight can cause "insulin resistance" in a Type 1 also. And, of course, with Symlin, the insulin will be reduced anyway. Are you aware that Symlin is an injected medication that may need to be taken 2 - 3 times/day?
