It is. It actually makes you feel very very full. Make sure it's in water, not oil. Keep in mind that Tuna has a lot of Mercury

Also, if you want to lose weight, try eliminating everything that's white (bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, flower, sugar). Lower your carb intake and don't eat past 7:30pm.

Don't drink any juices, unless they are diet, eat more protein like fish (you are a vegeterian I think?) and eat veggies. Watch out for some fruit as they have a lot of sugar in them. You can have half an apple, strabberies, blueberries.

Cheese is also good (no crackers!!!). Basically, Complex Carbs are what you should be eating (not completely eliminating carbs) and stay away from Refined ones!

And one last thing..... Make sure you are taking a multi vitamin - unless you already are, of course!!!

A lot of people here have mentioned the high mercury in tuna and I'll add my voice to theirs. Mercury is extremely toxic, and thanks to the levels of pollution in the ocean, a large fish like a tuna is very high in mercury, because it becomes more concentrated as it moves up the food chain. Authorities are now recommending one tuna meal/month, and none for pregnant women. Can you substitute sardines? I know it's not the same, but it has all the benefits and none of the risks.

Most fish has a higher levle of mercury in it, because of polution. Excessive intake over a longer period of time can be detrimental to your health. Switch off between tuna and chicken breast . Do NOT just eat tuna til it comes out your ears. lol.

Depends. It is high in fat but also high in Omega-3/fatty acids which are good for your mind and circulation. I love tuna and I often crave it when I am feeling off-balance. If you are trying to lose weight you need to be careful about what you add to it (i.e., full fat mayo)

If you're referencing to fresh tuna, the answer is no. Fresh tuna contains a high amount of sodium.

Not for vegetarians. Vegetarians don't eat fish.

Regardless of that...heathy whole foods in moderation and exercise will help somebody lose weight.

if you dont mind the mercury, dont buy the packed in oil one and you use salsa instead of fattening mayonaisse, it is a decent choice to help lose weight
