I don't know if your friend is a man or woman but as long as they are doing the cooking I would not make a sugestion unless they ask. If they ask, find out what the main dish is, then is when you can make an offering. Either that or, I'm with Sherrie, you do the cooking. I think that would be a nice suprise for them. Just pick a nice wine to go with what ever you are cooking and don't mess it it up.

What's wrong with Baked Beans? Gas, try Beano. If not, eat something else or surprise her by bringing a dish.

What about a pasta salad since it's summer? If they just want something warm, try a green bean casserole.

Take a dish you like and tell her that you thought she might like this and be considerate and eat a few beans if you don't mind.

Try frozen vege.

First, boil it with water, then remove the water, add 1 tea spoon of butter to the vege, stir it.

Taste very nice and healthy.
