if you was infected with a std a week ago would it show up this soon if you went to a doctor and got tested

It depends on what STD it is. Call them and ask them before you go down there and waste your time and money.

It all depends on the type of std you may have. Some take a few days to show signs while others may take weeks, months or even years. Many of the bacterial stds are asymptomatic meaning that they do not have any visible signs or symptoms. Also, in order to get tested, you have to have an idea as to what std you were exposed to since there isn't one test that will test for all possible stds. Some of the viral stds aren't even testable and can only be diagnoised when physical symptoms such as sores, blisters, or warts are present.
