Can they not see they are being perverts?
And yes I know where I placed this and It is because I want an honest ansewer. Where I am from they would be beat half to death and driven away but the law protects these preditors why do you think this is?

Well, in my idea there are three pausible theories.
The first theory is a well known one, mid life crisis. During this, older people analyze what they have accomplished with their life. Some think they haven't done anything with their life and go AWOL. When they go AWOL, some go on a party binge, some go nuts, and some hit on younger women to relive their younger years. It's a way of "going back in time".
The second theory is the want to affirm they are still hip, cool, and very much accepted by the younger society. Which they very much still are. It's just they want to re-affirm that. =P
The third theory is due to the fault of the media. The media has made a really big push towards the message, "Younger is better". Most people spend their time watching TV's and are susceptible to this propaganda. You can see this by noticing how movie stars and singers are getting younger and younger. Whatever happened to more talent as opposed to looks? Also, how the beauty product companies are making a really products so a person looks younger...OK...so it may not be just the media...but hey, it's there and the message society is giving out is clear, "Younger is better"
So there you have it, my theories on why older men hit on much younger women. Oh wait, I do have 1 more...
The final theory is they are perverts who prey on the innocent. Young girls, and boys, are susceptible to thought and ideas at that age. It's an age where you're curious about the world and want to explore it. So an older guy might try to trick them and use them for sex.
Well, now that's all my theories. No, I'm not some old guy who's trying to prey on young girls. I'm 24 and I just like to think a lot about this world of ours. Hope that answers your question. Oh, and yes, not all older people would go into just 1 of my theories. Some would fall in one and others in another.

I know that it is wrong but when you get to an old age and you see everyone(guys) around you getting old, your going to want a younger much handsomer looking guy. As long as you are the age of consent it shouldn't matter. Anyway age is nothing but a number. I have seen some teens that act way more mature than an adult. It should be the frame of mind, like if you know and understand what you are doing and what concequences it has. Of course you can't really determine this because anyone can say that they are ready but there are a few that do understand and they find that person, young or old, and stay with them for a long time.But anyways it's all about attraction. I walk in a store and see older guys looking me up and down. I get creeped out but I know that they do it becasue they find something attractive. I also know that some older guys(much older) that I look at I find attractive. So what is so wrong with this when you really think about it? Why is it that I can find guys that are in their 30's and 40's attractive and tell people about it and it's all ok but when an older guy finds me attractive it is wrong? I think that as long as he doesn't try anything that it is ok. I also know that when I get to be that age, I am going to want a younger guy. What it all comes down to is that we all want Beauty or that Attraction. No one wants to age gracefully anymore and they don't want a partner like that either. Beauty(attraction) is Youthfullness

Good question. Happened to me when I was on holidays few days ago. Seriously! The place if full of perverts and gays (who hit on my bf). Horrible!
And yes, I think the law should do something about it before hitting turns into something else. And I'm not joking.

I'm an older man (45) and all I can say in reply to your question is;Have you ever seen an old woman naked?(grimace and shiver)In our defense, though,I'd like to point out that you made no mention of the current trend of older women seeking younger men.

Well, by the time the get the necessary experience and confidence to hit on females, they are already old and not interested in their (old) kind. I think.
