Well Devon, Cornwall and Somerset are full of people that do not like travelling or working outside their areas.

They also have to put up with a lot of english people that move to those place because they want an idyllic second home.

Devon has the highest Water Bills and Poll Tax in all of England and the lowest wages.

But it is a very unspoilt place and people like to treasure it.

It is almost the same as people in Southern Ireland not liking anyone from anywhere else.

I lived in Devon for a year on business (from USA) and noticed a large group of people who never ventured out of the area..Many have never been to London and some had only ventured a few miles in their whole life..Definitely something weird there

If you don't mean tourists do you mean people who come from elsewhere to live there?
If so probably because people like this push house prices up meaning local people can't afford them and so they have to move away, happens quite a lot.

Then again you can't say that everyone in devon dislikes every outsider........

I live in Somerset and after taking over 3 hours to get home on Friday because of tourists and caravans (normally only takes me 1 hour 45 minutes) I can understand why anybody would hate tourists!

That's rubbish, I have been going to Devon for
12 years and never had that problem, in fact, when
I have been out on walks, the local people, have always
had time to stop and say hello, so people from Devon
are not like this.

Well that's not true. My grandmother Howe from Devon married my Grandfather Jeffrey from Wales - So how can what you're saying be true?

The west country is beautiful and so peaceful .!That is not completely true . I think we find the other English hard to understand . The other English have accents !Well it simple the people from the West country are known to have no accent and they speak correctly !
