Because that is the way it has always been done. If a woman aggressively pursues a man, it is considered "unladylike" and seen as "sexually aggressive". Women have been trained to hide their sexuality, and are trained from childhood that to be anything other than unsexual is deviant, at least in my generation (I am 53). The men my age who were pursued by a woman in any way at all would think that there is something wrong here, since they have always been the sexually aggressive ones. A woman has a natural modesty, and we were taught that it is the man's place to pursue a woman he desires, not the other way around. No matter how much I would want to tell a man I wanted to go out with him, I COULD NOT ask him. It is just the way women of my generation were raised, and I think it is still the same today.

Because, women are not mannequine, they're not pies or some sex toys that you can just grab and use.

Depends on the ppl in the relationship. Also that society has told women that it isn't very lady like to ask for such primal things like sex. Sex, sports and violence are reserved for men. Women are to be nurturing, caring, affectionate and submissive. Not doing what men do. But I say if I want someone badly enough I'm going for it. Screw what society says.

a lot men still don't like it if a woman is the first to 'ask' because they think the man should pursue the woman.
a lot of women won't ask because a lot of men still think that if she does, he can just use her for s** and not respect her.
