Yes you can, just while installing when it asks for New Installation or Upgrade or Overwrite, Say New Installation (and when ask for location Select the other drive rather where u have ur win98.", and viola it will install win xp there, but when u boot, it will bring Win XP as ur default but it will wait there for 30 secs, so that if u want to boot in Win98, you can change to win98.

You can depending on if your hard drive has enough space on it, due to how many programs you got on it.
Plus if your system hardware handles the minimum requirements for the operating system (Windows XP) to run on it I would suggest you upgrade as soon as possible, since Microsoft has ended its support for 98, and if vunerablity happens in 98 you will not be protected.
And if that happens you can kiss your computer good buy and have to install a newer operating system anyway or risk returning the computer to its original state only to go through the same thing again when your computer crashes.
Otherwise if you just want to see and get a feel of what its like go down to your nearest computer store or retailer that have some on display and play around with one, all of them have Windows XP so it doesnt matter which one you look at.

That is a negative sorry. I think you will defiantely be happy with XP. But if you are not I would recommend saving all the important stuff on 98 to a hard drive or disc so that you can recover all the information.

you can.. but win98 use FAt32 as default file system.. and winXp use ntfs file system (for better peformance).
if u want to use both.. i sugest that u make another partition, and install your XP on your new ntfs partition.
