If you are sure you have done the right thing, then you'll have give it time. Your ex was a part of your life for a long time, and you can't just erase all the feelings you had for her.
Please make sure your head is straight, because you don't want a rebound girlfriend. You always realise its not right and end up hurting someone else..x.x.x.x.x

Yes, you're doing great! Was in a simaller situation a few months ago, and it was horrible! I'd say the more new people you meet now, the quicker it will get easier to deal with your feelings. Plus you can start to have fun with all these new ladies, but without any immediate commitment (until your ready to go for another relationship). Just enjoy yourself, guilt free!

6 years is a long time. I think you should do whatever you need to in order to get over her. If that involves going out and meeting new people, then yes :)

Whatever helps.
I know female friends who prefer to take their time and 'grieve' for the relationship and wouldn't feel right with another man straight away.
I know men that like to get right back out there and sleeping with another woman helps with their way of dealing with it.
I know this isn't the case with all men and women, but I do think that we handle break ups differently.

That depends on whether you want to get her back or not. If you do then you should act as if you are still together. because if you get back together you will be judge by your actions later
